R.A Kartini Pahlawan Pendidikan Nasional
Kartini Raden Ajeng Kartini was a female educational figure who was born on April 21, 1879 and died on September 17, 1904. Kartini was known as a Javanese figure and a National Hero of Indonesia. Kartini was fond of reading and writing. Some of her writings in letters to her friends were also recorded. Kartini's letters are written about her thoughts about the social conditions at that time, especially about the condition of indigenous women. Most of her letters contain complaints and challenges, especially regarding the culture in Java which is seen as an obstacle to women's advancement. Kartini also founded a school called Kartini School or Kartini School. Kartini School is a special school for girls established by the Van Deventer Foundation in several places for female students. This school was originally founded in 1912 in Semarang.
